Component Locations

Above shows the location for all the components on the current PCB version. I find it easiest to start soldering the lowest height components and work upwards, however you can put the components on in any order.

The photos below are of an older board design. There is no PTC or R5 on the new PCB design.

FunGen v2 Blank PCB (Old Version)

Starting with the blank PCB, begin by inserting all the resistors R1, R2, R3, R4, R6 and R7 and diode D1.

Then solder in the IC's or IC sockets if you have them. It is safe to solder the sockets while the IC's are in them.

Then solder in the ceramic capacitors C3, C4 and C9, LED and switches.

Next, the 78L05 voltage regulator, electrolytic capacitors, and the DC jack. Make sure to use lots of solder when putting in the DC jack for mechanical strength.

Next comes the dual screw terminals and 7812 voltage regulator.

Finally, solder on the potentiometers. Again, make sure to use a decent amount of solder on them.

Done!
